The purpose of revising is to improve. I feel as if Birth of the Trauma of a Black Child improves delicately and then substantially throughout the duration of the essay process. I began the first revision by just going over little words and phrases that needed to be considered for clarity. In order for me to know what I was saying. The second revision was for creative purposes. To allow myself to be creative and let my descriptive emotions flow onto the paper. The third and final portion of the revision process was so drastic because I was focusing on purpose. While rewriting during the third revision, I felt like the entirety of the essay was clouded by what I wanted the audience to hear. I was able to make an improved essay by writing what I wanted to convey to the audience. Which included not just my truth but the truth of the world around us. The essay was able to evolve from Child of Racism to The Birth of the Trauma of a Black Child which was much more suitable to the entirety of the memory as well as the toll I felt the experience took on me.
